The limited edition works produced in collaboration with Poster Child Prints are derived from Greg Foley’s illustrations of iconic album covers created for his book COOL: Style, Sound, and Subversion (Rizzoli). Foley interpreted more than four hundred album covers highlighting the history of pop music over the past century – from early vinyl record labels to the origins of jazz, blues, rock, soul, punk, funk, metal, hip-hop, and electronic music. This first selection of prints includes: “Vintage 45s”, “Classic Punk”, “Golden Era Hip Hop”, and “New Pop”, each presented in a 12” format related to classic vinyl.
With these intimate little renderings, Foley pays tribute to the artists that shaped the scene by defying genres while at the same time defining them. These are the mold-breakers, the game-changers, and the voices of their generations. Choose the one that speaks to you or get them all for a truly iconic gallery wall.
These prints were printed at our studio in DTLA using the finest paper and archival inks. All prints come signed, numbered, embossed and validated by a certificate of authenticity.
