Mount
Full Bleed
The full-bleed mount keeps framing clean and simple since the artwork is mounted directly to the frame's edge. Acrylic spacers or shadowbox spacers can be added to keep acrylic away from artwork. A full bleed mount adds 1.5" to the size of an unframed artwork
Float
This technique creates depth and drama by placing artwork on top of an uncut mat. It leaves 1" to 1.5" of space between the edge and the frame. Shadowboxes or acrylic spacers prevent the image from touching the acrylic. To create more dramatic shadows beneath the art, a hidden lift is used for mounting. Floating mounts increase the size of unframed artwork by three inches.
