Chris Johanson
Chris Johanson is an American painter and a member of San Francsico's Mission School Art Movement. Originally from San Jose, CA, Chris Johanson grew up skateboarding and attending punk shows.
He was a prominent zine artist, and his publication "Karmaboarder," a skateboarding and art zine he published in the early to late 1980's, helped shape what later became initial well-known works. Johanson moved to San Francisco's Mission District in 1989 an attended City College of San Francisco until 1992.
Johanson became internationally known in 2002 after participating in the Whitney Biennial exhibition.
