Cooper and St. Marks are archival pigment prints that perfectly exemplify Cyr's meticulous yet grungy work. An admirer of well-weathered vehicles, Cyr's paintings act as time capsules for the over-looked and over-worked chassis of our era.

"In a culture in which people are easily lured by the appeal of status-enhancing symbols, I find beauty in derelict cars and unkempt landscapes. I have always been interested in painting vehicles and scenes that have defined the evolution of the American landscape.

Painting and drawing these objects gives me a chance to document a time and place, and to make still a part of the ever-changing environment." - Kevin Cyr

Kevin Cyr was born in 1976 in Edmundston, New Brunswick, Canada and grew up in Madawaska, Maine. In 2000, he received a BFA from Massachusetts College of Art and Design in Boston. Cyr is currently based in Portland, ME. His paintings, drawings, sculpture and installations have been exhibited by galleries and museums nationally and internationally. His work has been widely collected and is in the permanent collections of La Fondation d’Oxylane in Lille, France and the West Collection in Oaks, Pennsylvania.
