Tonight’s the night to celebrate Gary Baseman: The Door is Always Open, the artist’s large-scale exhibition of work in fine art, illustration, animation, performance, and toy design – displayed in a "home" inspired by the artist’s Fairfax District childhood home. The event includes Baseman’s characters that come to life, a DJ set by artist Shepard Fairey, live music by Nightmare and the Cat, art making, piñata-breaking, tours, and exclusive keepsakes.
The exhibition runs through August 18, and includes other great programs for audiences of all ages at the Skirball Cultural Center, 2701 N. Sepulveda Blvd, LA 90049.
