"The New (Y)ear" depicts two ladies in white satin dresses flocking a New Year cupid in a black tux and bow tie that says "1928". They are sitting on an ornate red sofa. The New Year cupid is whispering into the ear of the lady holding a cigarette while the red headed woman looks lonely. The artist's signature is displayed on the bottom right of the image.

This image is from the January 4, 1928 issue of The Bystander magazine. The Bystander Magazine was a British weekly tabloid that featured reviews, topical drawings, cartoons and short stories. The magazine ran until 1940, when it merged with The Tatler (1940-1968).

Artwork comes in a rippled gold frame with black mat.

There is light  discoloration and wear and tear along the edges.

  • We offer custom, made-to-order framing options that are built to last and will never go out of style.

Our frames are thin gallery frames; choose from classic white, natural or dark wood solid molding. Professionally assembled and ready to hang; hanging hardware included.

Artwork can be Full Bleed or Floated.

Full Bleed, frames your artwork directly to the edge, letting your artwork bleed under the edges of the frames.

Floated, raises your art ⅜” in front of the mat board behind it, offering the work a sense of depth and drama while showcasing the artwork and artist signatures.

Art is preserved using all acid-free materials and UV-protective acrylic to keep your artwork protected from the sunlight damage.

Since each frame is custom made with the utmost care, please allow 10-21 business days to receive your order via UPS Ground. At this time, framing is only available for customers within the USA.
