Event Recap. WHEN SUPERSTARS RULED THE WORLD featuring JAY JAY BURRIDGE

Private Opening August 12th, 2010
Opening last night was Lazarides first show with English artist Jay Jay Burridge and the last show in the temporary Beverly Hills space. Over 1,000 people including Gordon Ramsay, Steve Jones and Gavin Rossdale came out to see this “dino-mite” exhibition that featured 20 foot tall dinosaurs made out of industrial packing materials. You really have to see it for yourself so if you didn’t have a chance to come out last night, be sure to plan a visit soon.

Bast at Lazarides

Entitled Botulism, the show will feature all new work, developing past preoccupations in an exciting new direction, curious??

Inspired by the early punk flyers of London and New York, Bäst’s work plays with a variety of 21st Century icons, appropriating imagery from all types of media. Food Packaging, 50′s newspaper clippings and brand logos all form the backdrop to his vibrant, brilliantly colored works.

His latest acrylic paintings have developed the colorful repetitive patterns so often seen in his collages. For Botulism expect myriad unprecedented works with that classic Bäst flavor.

Exhibition runs 20th August – 30th September 2010
